Organic Farming

THE SUSTAINABLE MODEL OF THE FUTURE THAT SAFEGUARDS AND PRESERVES MAN AND THE ENVIRONMENT
ORGANIC WINE PRODUCERS IN THE MARCHE REGION

Organic farming involves the use of appropriate forms of cultivation that enhance and preserve the production system, based on the principles of environmental protection, development of resources and consumer health. Cantina Bruscia produces organic wine with a precise cultivation method that respects the rules according to the EC Regulation 834/07 and EC 889/08. Organic fertilizers, pesticides and fungicides of natural origin – such as copper and sulphur – are used in soil treatment, thus avoiding synthetic chemical substances.

“Biological” also derives from two Greek terms bios (life) and logos (word, understanding) which express at semantic level the respect for life in a broad sense. Among the producers of organic wine in the Marche region, we would like to mention the Azienda Bruscia, which practises organic farming because it is a healthy production method that respects and strengthens the balance between the soil, climate and vineyards. The result is a grape that is rich in nutritional values, where polyphenols play the role of antioxidants and confer to the wine aromaticity, colour and structure. Among the minerals present in the grapes are potassium, phosphorus, calcium and magnesium. Among the vitamins, A, some of the B group, C and K, while fructose and dextrose are the sugars it contains.

Organic farming effectively combines the productivity of the vines with environmental protection, as well as providing an excellent wine free of toxic residues and rich in nutrients. Organic farming also maintains a continuous bond with the surrounding habitat, providing for the presence of non-cultivated areas (such as hedges) and allowing the survival of particular insects against pests.

The organic production process, employed by Cantina Bruscia, consists in the harvesting of the grapes, the processing and direct sale of the wine, moving further than merely affixing a BIO label. In fact, the Bruscia Winery attributes great value to the health and well-being of the consumer, who can verify first-hand in the Winery the reality of the agricultural and organic production of the many wines present. The producers of organic wine in the Marche region, like Cantina Bruscia, care about man and the environment.
